I have a small network with 2 computers, using the same printer. Occasionally I will get a message that essentially says "Printer not recognized on this server." This is after it has been working fine all day. If I shut off both computers and printer, it will return to a working state when restarted. What is the problem?

What operating system are you using? What are the PCs? Have you completed the "Add Network Printer " to the remote PC's printer list?

Both PC are Dell, one with Windows ME and the other with Windows XP. The printer has been added to printer list and has been working for at least the last 2 years. Only on rare occasions does it not recognize.
