I have a gross annual figure for my pay and I would like to figure out how to compute it as hourly. I always thought you used 2,080 hours in a year but my payroll clerk is telling me it's 2,088

2080 means a 40 hour work week. Its possible your payroll includes the additional 8 hours because this is a leap year?

She didn't say anything about a leap year. Our year runs from July 1, 2008 to June 30, 2009 so leap year would not be applicable.

So ask where they arived at the 2088 figure. If your workweek is 40 hours then 2080 would be correct.

Our business manager came in and said "they" had decided to go with the 2080. I'm not sure who "they" are but I'm happy with the 2080.
Thanks for your input
