The water pressure in my kitchen has been cut in half. But the rest of the house the pressure is fine. What should I do?

Hi Danielnoah's mom:

Check the aerator first.

Unscrew the aerator at the end of the kitchen sink spout and clean it out.

The aerator unscrewsclockwise... and may need a pair of pliers to loosen it.

See pic. Below to se what I am talking about.

Unscrew it, clean it, purge water from faucet WITHOUT aerator in place, re-install and should be all set!

Let me know how it goes... ;)

Tell me what kind of faucet... single or double handle.. And what name brand if possible... and how old..

Start with that. If nothing available may need you to post a picture of the faucet.

Let me know.

It has a single lever. It is a moen

Moen makes a great faucet!

Basically, want to shut the water supply off to the faucet, then remove the handle and get into the body of the valve and remove the cartridge (may not need to remove the spout).

After removing the cartridge you need to PULSE THE hot and cold water on/off for a second or so each (cover faucet with rag) to clear lines of any sediment.

Then replace the cartridge see if that improved things. If so, great! If not, moen guarantees their faucets for a lifetime... just call 1800BUYMOEN to get a replacement cartridge.

Also note that they have a great website:

MOEN Kitchen Faucets, Bathroom Faucets and Bathroom Showers (http://www.moen.com)

Check this site out as well... they have tutorials on repairs, all kinds of stuff... MAY even have an exploded parts view of your faucet if you can recognize your faucet picture.

Click around the site.. you are looking for CONSUMER installation help to start... see if can find your faucet, then look at pics. For parts info.

That should get you started.. let me know if need anything else.
