Last week, I called 1800-829-1954 because I thought my refund check was lost when I tried to deposit it by mail through my bank. The hotline told me that they will send me Form 3911. But I just received back my refund check this week which I thought was lost. Should I call IRS to cancel my request or not sending back the Form 3911 will be enough. Thanks.

Yes, call IRS.

Yes, I actually called IRS. But when I told them to cancel my request for Form 3911, she asked me "What is Form 3911?". When I tried to explain it to her, she forwarded me to the Refund hotline where there's no option to talk to any representative. That's why I am quite frustrated when I called. Thanks.

Do not worry about the Form 3911. It is just a blank form they sent you. Nothing is pending about refunding the "lost" check until you fill in and submit the Form 3911.

You can download the Form 3911, Taxpayer Statement on Refund from

I did not get my refund, which was suppose to be deposited into my account today. I have the copy of my refund in front of me, I'm very sure I enter all informations correctly.

The IRS projects when the refund deposits will be made, but it is NOT guaranteed.

Be patient; it will probably be direct deposited next week.
