Since outdoor extension cords should not be buried, can you make a uf cable "extension" cord to plug into a ground fault outdoor outlet and then bury it?

By definition, extension cords are tempoary power sources not to be used more then 90 days.
Please outline your entire project so we can get the correct answers for you.

The simple answer is "No".
Yet, since you are planning to run UF, then you may as well do it right. Post back as Don said with your project plans.

An electrician installed an outdoor ground fault outlet on the post of my deck with a watertight plastic "in use" cover. I want to run a pump for fountain that is about 15 feet away in the center of my yard. To provide the electricity, I wanted to put an outlet on a stake by the fountain. But rather than wire into the outlet on the deck, I would plug into it and make a uf extension cord that was buried.
