I have an Amana top loading washing machine that has a broken belt. Took off front panel. What has to be taken loose to get the belt around the pulley at the bottom of the motor? Tub springs, pump housing? Should I turn machine on it's back for access to screws at bottom of pump? How do I drain the washer if I have to turn it on it's back?Rsonntag

I'm not familiar with the Amana specifically, but generally speaking there will be slots where the motor mounts to the frame. If you loosen the bolts on that, it will slide closer to the other pulley, allowing the new belt to be slipped on. Then you just pull the motor back tight and screw the bolts back down. Sometimes I mark things so that I know where everything was to begin with.
Good Luck,

Speed Queen Model # AWM472W2 need to replace belt. Does the waterplump come straight off once you remove the three screws holding it on the motor shaft.
