Hello
Our 7 year old boy cat has been losing weight (1lb in only 1 month), has 'sick' looking eyes (the whites in the corners show more), his eyes are droopy, he's been having diarrhea off & on for awhile, also sometimes when he throws up it smells like diarrhea & looks a little like it.
Any hints, or anything would be greatly appreciated. I think we're going to have to end up taking him to the vet, but we're both on disability (Fiance was working when the cats came along) and I worry that the tests will be too much for us. Plus, any kind of knowledge until we can get him into the vet (after 6/3) might settle my mind a little.

So... thanks in advance to ANYONE who can give any kind of hints, tips, suggestions, etc. Hugs, Kelly ([email protected])

We're bringing him to the vet today. I'll update when we know more.

Take your cat to the vet.

Vomiting stuff that smells like poop is definitely not good. Call around, tell the vet's offices your situation and the budget you have to work within. Hopefully you will find someone who will understand and run the tests most likely to give you the most information for your money.
It's not always easy to diagnose problems like these. You might also check to see if any of the vets offer Care Credit which is like a credit card for the pet's medical treatment. You apply for it right in the office and are approved or denied within the hour.
I wish you luck with your kitty's condition.

Vets care more about animals than they do money. Explain your financial situation to the vet. Your cat needs to see one NOW!

Well, we took him to the vet yesterday. They took x-rays & ran bloodwork. The verdict: he is diabetic. He needs insulin, special food, & special treats. That all would be about $150.00+ every month.
We're both on disability...so we can't afford that. I'm trying to find a place that will take him in & take care of him.

Just wanted to update.

Thanks for the update. Please contact a cat or animal shelter near you. They might take the kitten. If they refuse, then the kindest thing would be to have him euthanized.
