Hi there. We have an air conditioner on our motorhome. We know it needs recharging as it only blow warm. How do we recharge it if there is no fittings? Can you buy them and do it yourself? My husband does everything so he's pretty handy and smart. He is not sure what fittings to use or what to use to recharge it. Someon's help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

First you need a refrigerant recover unit to reclaim the refrigerant. If the unit is completely out of refrigerant the you can add a access valve. They make braze in or bolt on. The bolt on unit eventually leak.

In order to charge one of those you really need to find the leak first because they are a critical charge unit and if it leaks after the charge it will not work correctly.

Look for a oil spot usually that indicates a leak area and you can also use a electronic leak detector.

You will need a gauge set and a license to handle refrigerant to charge the unit. It is the law. This is not like charging a car you are actually working on a window style A/C unit that has been modified to wok in a RV setting.
