Hi. I want to know the percentage of Tax Withheld for this Bi-Weekly check.

I worked 40.75 hours @ a rate of $8 per hour. A Total of $326 Gross. They took $37.39 out of my paycheck.

I'm filing as single, and to take off the maximum of taxes.

I live in Rochester, NY.

Please, reply ASAP. Thanks.

Medicare tax at 1.45%
SS tax at 6.2%.
Federal income tax and state income tax depends upon your allowances on your W4.
Other state taxes at fixed rate.

The federal tax and state tax withheld is not your actual tax as per tax return, If your withholding are more than your actual tax, you will get a refund. If the withholdings are less, you must pay the balance when you file your tax return.

About $24.40 is being deducted for Social Security and Medicare taxes, which leaves about $13.

I suspect that the remainign $13 is split between federal and state about $3 for federal and $10 for state.
