What are the effects of giving plasma?

Well, for starters, it could save someone's life!

Secondly, it is just like giving blood, only it takes longer.

They pull out a pint of blood, then they separate the white cells from the red.

They put the white cells back into your body, then they take another pint, and repeat the same procedure.

They end up with a pint of Red Blood Cells, or plasma, and you get all the white blood cells back, that help you fight disease and infections.

Some people claim to feel light headed for a short while after they donate, they will usually have something like orange juice and cookies when your done, and you should stay there and seated until the light headedness has passed.
