Hi, I'm Mariam and I need advice badly. My cat, Zuma, has had 3 batches of kittens and they all have the same eye problem. First the kittens will have difficulty opening their eyes. Then they swell and pus-like liquid will be discharged from them. Then the eyes seem to bulge from their sockets and there will be some bleeding. We clean their eyes with saline solution (as recommened by the vet) but somehow that doesn't help. However, they seem to outgrow it but ended up having just one good eye. I really need some advice here as I think Zuma and her daughter will be having kittens soon (4th. Batch for Zuma and 1st for her daughter, Elie) as I don't want the new batch to get the same problem. Please advise about the prevention. It's torture seeing the kittens going around with their damaged eyes. But despite that, they are active and big eaters too.

It sounds like your cats are either carriers or living in conditions where infections are common. Have you considered having them spayed/neutered so that they will not keep having kittens?
