I'm dating a girl who I care very much about and would like to ask to marry me sometime in the near future. Recently however, my uncle (my father's brother) and her mother (no relation at all) have begun seeing each other. They are both in their 50's so there will be no children or cousins produced from their relationship, but if they were to get married, would that make my girlfriend and I relatives, or would it be OK to continue dating her and or possibly taking our relationship to another level?

Weird places life puts us... Thanks for any and all answers!

I just want to make one point first, it IS possible for people over 50 to conceive children.

NOW, you would only be paper relation. That's not illegal or considered incest.. I don't see why you wouldn't be able to continue your relationship. If their relationship bothers you and your S.O. shouldn't you mention that to them?

There are no legal issues here at all, nor medical ones. So the only thing left is mental stress, and that you can ALL do without.

Keep your worries to yourself. Butt out, wish them well whenever the issue arises in conversation, be sincerely happy for ANY two adults who have a chance at companionship and happiness.

There are no issues at all, step relationships do not make any blood relationships
