I moved into a house almost 4 yrs ago. My boyfriend and I had broken up and then got back together 5 months after I got my own place. We decided that he would pay the rent and I would pay my Car Payments, the phone, electric and internet bill, and Car Insurance on both of our vehicles. Now I want him out, and he wants me out. I was here first. Who is right? How needs to get out? Thanks for any info. Cat

You mentioned that you rent. Who signed the lease? Whoever signed the lease (or made the original deal with the landlord) is the tenant and gets to stay.

Didn't you sign a rental agreement? Who owns the house? If not, is it a family member? A friend? If that is the case, then have whoever OWNS the house to tell the dude to bounce or he can be arrested for trespassing.

If you're the one who made the original agreement with the landlord then you are the primary tenant and I should think that you would have the right to stay.
