Hi, I'm new to planting flowers. I received a package of sunflower seeds today. I have no idea how or where to plant them. I guess because they are called "sunflowers" they should be planted in a very sunny area. I need to know if I should place more than one seed in each section. I understand that I must place them 6 inches apart and pull the growing ones every other one (thining) so that the results will be approx 12-18 inches apart.

Can you tell me about planting the seeds. How many in each spot when I start?
Should I use miracle grow in the hole with the seed?

Miracle Grow is an excellent fertilizer to use for any flowers, all summer long. These are large seeds so put one in each hole (press your finger in the dirt )and put one seed in and cover lightly. As the package says, if there is one. These are huge yellow flowers and I am sure you can find a pic on line; just Google it to see. Birds love the seeds.
