I'm laying 1" Blue Stone. I already have a good base (4" -6") of crushed limestone, I've been told I should now use Sinter stone(1/2") by some and sand by others, before laying my stone. It seems each comes with it's own pros and cons; what do you think?

You have 6" of gravel down, how coarse is it? I am asking since both sand and limestone screenings will settle through the gravel over time, I would have just used screening.

The crushed limestone is called DGA or 304 here in Ohio. The limestone pieces are 1" on down to a fine dust; when compacted it seals together quite tightly.
