I was curious how hard it is to install a brick paveway up to my front porch? I figure there is digging involved, sand to make it level, laying down some geo tech fabric and brick. What is involved?

Thanks in advance!

You actually named pretty much everything but I use limestone screening instead of sand. You need to dig down 6" and try to keep the bottom of your dig flat. Fill and level 4" of sand or screening, tamp well. You need to plan for a border that will keep the dge brick from shifting, we use a steel band perimeter. What are your thoughts?

Steel band? What is that exactly? Easy to use, and find at a local hardware store?

Not a hardware store item, its about 14 gauge steel and must be bought from landscaping supply wearhouses or on the net. Border Concepts : : Supplies for Lawn, Garden & Landscape (http://www.borderconcepts.com/steel_edging.asp)

Thanks for the compliment, I appreciate it. If you find a local supplier he might also sell the brick and limestone so you can get a better delivery price. Can't just use any brick for a walkway.

REALLY? So I guess make sure they are for walkways then. OK, thanks. I would have made a huge mistake then.
