When checking the plug for fire there is none and engine will not start. Any suggestions on what part to check?

Remove the blower housing, disconnect the small black wire from the coil, turn engine over and see if you have spark. This small black wire is the "kill" wire.

I did exactly that today and it still did not fire. Is the coil bad??
