My son has a first offender plea in Georgia for possession of Mariquana with intent. He is now on 4 years probation and living in NC and is a college student in NC (his home state) A month ago he received a DWI. Will Georgia extradite him? He reported the DWI arrest immediately the next day to his PO here in NC.. ( Probation was transferred here last October) He is a fulltime student, and works 30 hours per week as well. The conditions of his probation were: 4 years (supervised), 100 hours comm. Service (he has about 4 more hours and his service will be complete) fines (he is current and up to date on all fines) submit to drug testing per PO. One condition that I just found out about was this. The judge ordered subs abuse counseling and treatment. This was never followed up with. My son said he was not aware of this. Apparently the Po was not either. He now goes to AA since the DWI, but he is doing that voluntarily. Interesting that we never saw the conditions of his probation until the DWI and we had to write GA and request the court papers. So my question is what will happen.

There should be some kind of probation violation hearing regarding this DWI offense as that clearly is a violation of his probation. Contact the NC PO for further info on this.

If the PO does not violate his probation then there is nothing that is going to happen, I doubt they will for a drinking offense. ( but they can)
If they violate his probation several things could happen, one he could be picked up and taken back to GA, for a hearing, the other he be allowed to appear in court in GA for a hearing.

But I doubt anything will happen, he needs to talk to his PO on what they think and what they are doing
