Hi all,

My car is a 94 Saturn. It has been working fine since I have it (for 2 years). Regular maitainence. Recently after a long trip (12 hours/1way), it sounds louder when running, sounds like the noise comes from the rubber belt under the hood. But still doing fine. Engine sounds fine.

2 days a go, when I took it out and drove for a mile or two, then I got slow down for a red light, it suddenly died. The car light was still on, batter appeared to be week but still stayed in green (regular) region.

I tried to start it again, but heard no cranking noise nor ssss (the noise it makes before the engine fires ).

What is wrong with it? Stater? Alternator? Or igniter?

It could be a number of things... were any lights on prior to it stalling(battery lihgt, service engine light, etc.)?

. Ensure battery is fully charged--replace, if necessary. Clean battery terminals and cables.
. Test all under-hood and under-dash fuses with a test light or multimeter:

. If starter motor won't crank:

. Test for spark. If none, test/replace the ignitor and coil pack.
. Test for fuel.
