Hi out there! I need help on how to install a rough-in for a stand up shower. I have water lines ran (hot and cold) but I don't know how to install the rough-in. It is confusing me! The water lines are about 2 1/2 ft. away from where I need them to be. Someone please help!

There really isn't much to installing the lines for a shower, just remember to keep the hot on the left. Your mixing valve needs to be mounted on a cross 2x4 behind the wall and the elbow at the top of the shower is secured with a drop ear 90 elbow also secured to a 2x4. Your lines should be 1/2" or more depending on the valves requirements and what you have to tap off from. http://www.masterplumber.com/instructions/shwrbth.html

Will this be a custom tile shower or a manufactured shower base and enclosure? Your shower will need to be vented. This can be done in one of two ways. 1) Lay a wye or a combo on a 45 degree angle after the trap and run a vent out the roof or revent back in the attic. **or** 2) Connect the shower drain tom the lavatory drain where it will be wet vented. I opt for door #2. More questions? I'm as close as a click. Regards, Tom
