I am having an issue with water pressure for my hot water in the shower. Everywhere else in the house has great water pressure except for my shower. If you use the cold water in the shower, the pressure is fine. Anybody have a suggestion as to what could be wrong and how to fix this?

What's the brand name of your shower valve? How old is it? I think what has happened is that minerals built up in the water heater,( later I'll show you how to flush the minerals out of your heater) and are now clogging the hoit water inlet ports of your valves cartridge. To tell you more I'll need you to answer me. To flush your heater to remove mineral build-up.

For long life and fewer troubles you should keep your heater clear of mineral build-up by FLUSHING NOT DRAINING on a regular schedule. Attach a hose to the boiler drain at the bottom of the tank. With the pressure on, open the boiler drain and let it run until the water runs clear. You will see a spurt of red,(rust) followed by white or yellow grains,(lime or calcium carbonate). This shouldn't take more then a few minutes. Do this monthly to keep it clear. Now flush out your hot water lines on ALL fixtures that are affected . Now pull each aerator and clean the screens. Be sure you put them back togather the same way you took them out. Don't forget to flush it out every month. Your heater will thank you for it. Hope this helps, Tom

Unfortunately, I'm not sure of the brand of valves. I live in an apartment and spoke to my landlord regarding this. It started with a broken faucet knob in the shower and he said he fixed the shower knob and replaced the valves. My husband went and checked to make sure that the valves were on all the way and they seem to be fine. We have copper piping for the water and pvc piping for draining.
