What can I do to sooth a 5 month old baby with fever?

I'm sort of against giving medication to infants... especially when it's one of those things that'll just go away. How high is the fever? I'm assuming that you're a responsible parent and have already called the doctor to find out if you need to bring the child in.
I suggest putting a damp warm cloth on his sinus areas, as it should feel like a gentle breeze while the moisture evaporates. Try holding + singing to him to calm him down.

I agree about avoiding medications as much as possible with infants. I would give her a cool bath, give her lots of love and snuggles, and if you have a wrap or carrier, keep her close to you most of the time.
Unless the fever goes over 103 (39.4c) stay calm and relaxed.
Fevers are a normal part of your babies immune system, and they are not dangerous at a 38c temp.
