Good Evening Everyone,

I have a cabin that the squirrels and mice and raccoons potentially have had a little too much fun in the attic space. I head out tomorrow to address the "access" issue and then the "smell" issue. It has already been noted that fecal material exists in the attic space from said animals. I have been scratching my head about what to use to sanitize and eliminate odor caused by the animals fun. I thought about lime but don't know if it's a good idea to use in an enclosed space that regardless of effort could find it's way into human living space. This cabin is rented by vacationers and I would hate the idea of a child or adult getting ill from either a lack of treatment or the wrong treatment for the problem. Granted, I want to remove the insulation, remove the foreign matter, and re-insulate but I need to know if there are other options to offer the homeowner. What do you think?

To remove the fecal matter I would think you would have to remove the insulation especially if it is the old kind with the paper. For the smell Pet Smart and Petco sell pet odor eliminator sprays to get rid of the scent. Odo ban is a good brand.
