I am a 47 year old female and fell on my left side about 4 weeks ago... I have had this sharp pain in my right lower back.. The pain goes to my hip down my hamstring and to my ankle... At night my back and ankle throbs.. When I stand ~ sit ~ lay there is pain... Hard to get comfortable... Not getting too much sleep... Sometimes I get a pain in my tail bone too.. I have been using rubs and advil but the pain is not going.. this is the first time I have had back pain... When I stand from a sitting position there is a sharp pain in my back.. but my right leg bothers me more... Anyone know what it might be... Thank you

This could be a number of things could be a pinched nerve. My mom was having hip and leg pain now she is on arthritis medicine. I really hope you find out, I would find a cheap clinic if you have no insurance and get it as soon as you can. Pain is never any fun, and I wish you the best of luck.

You may have sciatica (pinched nerve) this is caused by the nerves in the spinal column being pinched by very littlespace. I suggest that you see a chiropractor many offer very inexpensive care. Stay away from pain meds because they cause a lot of stomache/ liver damage. Drink lots of WATER!
