I will be 34 yrs old in November and I have been in an active sexual relationship for approxiamtely 1 1/2 years, but have yet to become pregnant. I already have a 10 yr old daughter from a previous relationship who was born at 28 weeks. Is it possible that the premature delivery with my daughter 10 yrs ago would lead to infertility? Should I assume that I am infertile due to the amount of sex I have without being able to conceive? I am concerned bacause I want to add to my existing family and my fiancé would like to as well. My fiancé jokes around and says "I'm broken" because he has a son from a previous relationship that will be 7 this year and he claims there is nothing wrong with him because his child is younger than mine. I have been to the doctor and when they performed an ultrasound they said everything appears normal... can an ultrasound determine infertility?

No not to my knowlage . Have you tried buying a ovulation kit. It will tell you what to do. No preterm birth I don't think will cause you not to have another baby. If you have a regular cycle then maybe check your hormone levels or a thyroyd that happened to a friend of mine after her first daughter who is now 5 she wanted a nother baby about a year ago and she told me what some of her problems were I told her the same thing and now she's expecting and she's due in Aug and she's having a boy. I hope I've been a help If I can tell you more feel free to write .

The fact that you had a child before is a sure sign that you are able to have another. It is probably the fact that you are stressing yourself at the issue of becoming pregnant, maybe you should try to relax and let nature take it course.
I too I'm trying to conceive and I thought that I was infertile. Me and my husband have been trying for 3 month, I am 28 but when I had my check-up my doctor confirmed all was fine, they checked the shape and size of my uterus, my ovaries and asked me a few personal questions, my husband also underwent an examination and he is fine, my doctor stated that we were stressing it too much, just relax. I am now 2 weeks late BUT getting negative tests, don't know what's up with that.
Another you are still young, one factor to consider is that when women tend to get older the chances of conceiving lessings, but I trust and believe you are fine, just relax, enjoy the moment and do try to think or make having sex a chore.
If you feel you need some assistance, maybe you should talk to your doctor about possible fertilty drugs such as Clomid. I hope this was helpful. Good Luck!
