Hello,
"I just feel that everything being in her name gives her the upper hand."
I agree with that statement, because I am in a similar situation and I feel the same way. My fiancé and I bought a house together, but only his name is on the mortgage and on the title. I feel very vulnerable in this situation, because I already put money down and I'll be paying part of the mortgage, and other bills related to the house. At the same time my name is not on the legal documents.
I am also trying to get my name added to the title, but it looks like that financially would be better to do it after we are married.
So should I ask him to sign an agreement in the mean time and what kind of agreement should that be?
Thank you for your comments.
So what kind of agreement should I ask my fiancé to sign, to priotect my rights as well?
