hey, last yr a friend of mine who i used to work with stole from our place of work, wat she would do is put the stores money onto her credit card by faleifying returns, she stole about 1000-3000 dollars, also there were items that were stolen from the store valued at about 10,000-20,000 dollars. even though there were about 5 employees and 6 customers involved in her scam, the company is only coming after her, she is 18 is a good university student with good grades, no priors, I was wondering what is likely to happen to her, and how long they have to come after her. the company knows about the credit card scams that she did, but not about the thefts. If she is charged with theft under 5000, wat will be the scenario and how long do they have to charge her with, also wat sort of evidence to they need. if she is charged with theft over 5000 wat is likely to happen and how long do they have to play it out. please let me know,
thanks alot
Where did this happen? I would "guess" Canada - ?
As a side note - were you involved in this? I wondered why you are interested and aren't simply staying away in case she names names - including yours.
The company gets to pick who to pursue - for whatever reason (and perhaps they think she was the ringleader) they have chosen her. Sounds like the charge is going to be theft OVER $5,000.

Yes it does sound like it will end up to be over 5000 and it will have several years to file charges.
