So this is a bit long but...
I had started seeing a guy that I really liked a few months ago. We were not in an exclusive relationship, and I think he is still on the rebound after a recent break up and not ready for anything really serious. Also his ex has started communication a little while ago as well. So last week I broke things off with him and told him we could not hang out under romantic circumstances anymore because I felt strongly about him and did not want to get hurt in the future. It was all very diplomatic and relaxed. He seemed a little surprised but said he understood and respected this.
I am moving on, but I still have lingering feelings as I really liked him. My question is, has anyone experience with this? I'm just curious to hear story of anyone who's been in a similar situation, and what the outcome was (never heard from him again, got back together, etc). And any tips people have (not just the 'moving on' ones, but maybe a few of the 'how to make him miss you' ones too, 'cause I want to feel a bit better? :)
