Hello, I'm currently a legal student at one of the universities in US and I met my fiancée (true love) 1.5 years ago and she is an Ameircan. We are going to get married in a few months. I'm still a student by the way. My question is will there be any problems or issues with my status when I apply for green card after I get married? Can I be deported?
Thanks

If you are currently here in the US legally there should not be too much issue, but again nothing is 100 percent

ํำCongratulations! :)
Yes, you can married her and she must submit petition I-130 for you. As long as you maintain your legal status as student, and the marriage is bona fide, there will be no problem. Make sure her income is sufficient to sponsor you (125% of poverty guidelines). If her income is insufficient, she can have joint sponsor which could be her family member, etc. This person must be US citizen. Check here (http://www.uscis.gov/portal/site/uscis/menuitem.5af9bb95919f35e66f614176543f6d1a/?vgnextoid=73c63591ec04d010VgnVCM10000048f3d6a1RCR D&vgnextchannel=db029c7755cb9010VgnVCM10000045f3d6a1 RCRD).
There is a condition for marriage in case like this, during the process of adjustment of status, you cannot leave US. You must wait until you receive our green card. Good Luck.
