Hello.
Ok - I split with my ex about 5 months ago - we had been going out for 7 months, but we were friends for about a year before that. We had a bit of a rocky start to the relationship as I was going through a nasty split with my boyfriend at the time and started seeing him almost straight away. He had also been really badly hurt by his previous girlfriend 3 months before hand who left him for someone else completely out of the blue, so I think it was a bit of a rebound situation for both of us. I have to work with him every day, as we are in the same departments and on similar projects and we have the same circle of friends outside work and in work.
When we split, he didn't really have a reason and just said something was missing. He wanted to stay friends and as I really wanted him back I agreed (after having minimal contact for the first month). We started car sharing to work again then but we were just friends until we started sleeping together 2 months ago. On a night out about 2 weeks ago, he told me we made each other happy and he was confused about what he wanted, as we had been getting closer and he had feelings for me which were coming back to the surface. However, the next day he claimed to not remember that conversation and the next weekend, he started dating the sister of one of my closest friends (who we both work with and have lunch with). He said he wasn't ready for anything long term as he had been really badly hurt by his previous girlfriend. I really don't want to speak to him as I feel it would be an easier way to get over him, as if I spend time with him, it only reiterates the fact that we are great together, have an amazing friendship and a great chemistry, but I can't force him to be with me, so staying out of his way seems the easiest way to deal with things. However this means I am not spending time with my friends either and having lunch at my desk every day. I really don't know how to deal with this and any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
