I wouldn't worry about the fleas at the moment, seeing as she is pregnant. My pup (now 12) had really bad fleas when I rescued her at five weeks. I put her in the sink and washed her and she was fine. So you can deal with the fleas after, if you can stand it. Anything you use now will probably be harmful.

All depends on how far along she is in the pregnancy but you can get some flea spray (I like the Adams Flea Spray) and put it on a cloth and wipe her down. Or, get some Avon Skin So Soft and do the same. Of course, if she is a full coated dog (like our bearded collies or our cockers) it's a little more difficult. Don't use any of the topical drops at this point. You can also get some Borax and put it on the carpet.. leave it there for a day or so and vacuum it up. That won't hurt the dog but will kill the fleas.

Get a comb fine toothed flea comb or lice comb. Comb her daily or a couple of times a day, drop the fleas in a container filled with soapy water. Treat your cat, but keep it away from the dog, you don't want the cat transferring the flea med. To her by rubbing up against her. I would also treat the house and yard. Flea bombs are great for the house make sur to follow directions.
