 Okay, so here is a tough one for you... hopefully you can help me out! This is very confusing for me!
I am Canadian and work in the United States under the Trade NAFTA agreement. I commute almost everyday so I do not live in the US. I work for a very small company where I fall in the 1099-MISC category. I am wondering how to go about doing my taxes in Canada and also in the US... do I do both? Also, under a 1099-MISC I am told I can claim expenses due to starting this job... i.e. - mileage, cell phone, border crossing toll, etc. - will I be able to get these back under this form and also since I have not paid income tax throughout the year because it is a small independent company should I be prepared to due so?
Thanks in advance for your help!
Happy tax season!
