replace

My house was built in the '40s. The existing toilet has two hold-down bolts on each side of the base. All new toilets, as far as I know, have one hold-down bolt on each side.
How do I work around this apparent incompatibility?

Hi replace:
The two most forward bolts will just be johnny SCREWS.. they just rotate out as normal screw... may need to get pliers or good pair of vise grips out to remove these... but only after old toilet has been removed completely.. then unscrew these and should be all set to install normal toilet with regular johnny bolts... see pics. Below.
You will see what I mean when old toilet is removed...
Do you know how to measure for a new toilet..
Let me know if need more... Mark
