I am a third owner of a home built in 1986 The main bathroom tub (which I believe is the original) is creaking every time we shower or bathe. I believe that the tub is metal since there is one chip in the edge and It appears to be metal with porcelan over the top. Is there anything that we can do to repair this? Or are we going to have to get a new tub?

Hey Ben, The tub needs to be bedded. To bed a tub you have to shore the floor up with boards or puddle cement under the places you stand and let it harden. As for the small chip go to a big box store/paint department and ask for a appliance paint repair kit. Good luck, Tom
