I got served papers back in early march 08 for credit card dept from a dept collector (lawyer, not bonded in my state= TN). I have no ideal what this dept is from, so I sent a ltr to the lawyer requesting more info based on the proceudres of the FFDCPA (A statement, or something with my name on it) well the ltr I got back (28mar08) only said they rec'd my ltr and want me to contact them. Oh now the amount they want has increase by 354.00 dollars. Also my court date is at 9am, 3apr08, do I showup, what do I do when I showup? I can't even read the bad copy of the summons, also with the summons is a Verified Statement of Account from someone saying they are a agent from Capital One Bank, there is no address just a signature and notary stamp. I don't think this prouft enough for me to pay someone I don't know.

Well, I'm a little confused. You got a letter OR a Summons OR both. You should never, ever ignore a Summons because they will get a default Judgment and try to collect.
The additional $354 is probably interest and fees, nothing unusual.
You asked for info on the account and that's what the Verified Statement is. Is it you? Is it your Account?
So go to Court with your defense (it's not your debt, you already paid it, it's beyond the Statute of Limitations) and try to keep them from getting a Judgment.
