Hi, tweedy,
Your cell phone company's Customer Care Representatives, or the Tech Support through them, can help you with this. Call them.

I posted the same question here a month ago. I had broken my phone and some one was nice enough to give me one. You can not get it. Beware of buying the codes off o EBAY. I went to a Flea market with a lot of vendors there, I looked for a cell phone place, asked them if they unlocked phones, for $35.00 they unlocked it and I was a happy camper.

They won’t help you. I had cingular service, the phone I was given was an AT&T phone (AT&T bought by cingular) Phone was a Motorola, I called cingular, they said no, call Motorola, Motorola said to call AT&T, AT&T transfers you back to cingular because cingular owns AT&T, They again tell me to call Motorola, this went on for 2 hour. In the end I went on eBay researched and found out that there were companies that would unlock the phone for you. Catch was you had to pay them first and then they would give you a location to go to get the phone unlocked. (This scared me) Knowing that you could get it done, I set out on a Saturday afternoon to the local flea markets. It did not take long to find some one to do it for 1/2 the price the scary people on eBay were going to charge me.
