Hi I'm an 18 year old female in Tennessee. I've been accepted to begin my education at the University of Memphis in the 2008 fall semester. I want to become a kindergarten teacher. I have been training in Tae Kwon Do since 2001, and I am currently a third degree black belt and a certified instructor. I am in need of scholarship money, and was wondering about available scholarships for martial artists.

Usually scholarships are more related to the program or field of study you're going into, like a scholarship for young teachers, or something to that effect. If you go to fastwebs.com you can look for scholarships for martial artist, but they'll probably be geared toward people who are going to school to study martial arts, teach martial arts, etc... like the scholarship is related to the field of study.

My son has been apply for scholarships like crazy. Some of the banks , credit unions etc in our area have 500 hundred, 1000 or more. Call some of your business in your area and ask if they have scholarships available also your parents place of employment may have them as well. Here is a site that is used by his school to help them find scholarships that are available. Talk to your counselor about it.Prep HeadQuarters - Home (http://prephq.com/index.php) Good Luck
