The reason you replaced the element may have been a previously burned out or shorted element.
An in-line fuse may for that reason have gone. Please check the wiring.
If you have a multimeter check the element if there is any voltage on it (careful please : safety first!)
.
Please let me know (by clicking my handle and mailing me) if you want me to reply on any additional information and/or questions from your side here.
Success!

brunorock - Pull the stove out from the wall so you can get behind it to work , un plug the stove at the receptical ;; Now take the back panel off the stove, see if you can see the wires comeing from the bottom of the oven, trace them all the way back to the oven switch ,check to see if they are burnt into ,or burnt but are hanging togreather yet . If the wires look OK then take a ohm meter and check that both wires have continuity then if this checks out OK then take the element back out and check it out to see if you have , Continuity on it . If all this checks out OK then I would say that the switch has gone out and will have to be replaced. . And it may be your thermostate! I hope this helps you out Good luck and GOD BLESS :: F.B.E.
