If there is no lease it is on a 30 day month to month system, and your landlord can charge you for the full month's rent as they will not be able to rent the home out for one week of that month to another tenant.

You have two options: rent it for another month or move out when you said you will and find somewhere else to stay for a week. You gave your notice, and the landlord is under no obligation to let you stay a day later than when you said you would be out. If you want to stay another week, he is able to set whatever terms he wants, because his other legal option is to just say no.
