He did talk to my mom, Friend. My Mom has no backbone around my bro either though... she just backs down and says... well it will all be fine! It's just insane! She can't, or doesn't tell my bro the way it is. So then my bro thinks... oh it's just Starby over-reacting again. That's not how Mom really feels... Starby is just making this S#*T up!
starbuck8
Apr 14, 2008, 10:57 PM
Thanks you guys! Yeah, I guess I'll just have to hope for the best. Mom did say she is going to make sure she drives in front, and she is going tomorrow to buy walkie talkies and new cell phones. It's just when they get into places like Atl, or through Nashville,. all of the crazy freeways and such, it might not be so easy for them to stay together!
I know! I drove down there yrs ago following my mom, in a big truck, and we lost each other completely!
And now with all the tornadoes and floods in the places they have to go through just makes it so much worse!
starbuck8
Apr 14, 2008, 10:58 PM
Sneezy... will you flatten his tires or something when they get to Atl? LOL

Apr 14, 2008, 10:59 PM

I cleaned house today and I worked tonight, got home at 10 and I am not sleepy but know I will not want to wake up if I don't go to bed. See that is the problem with working nights! I normally am a 9 or 9:30 bedtime girly, but the nights I work, well I can't get settled or tired until about midnight or even after. I need to do something about this!
It leaks into the other nights that I don't work now... HELP ME!! :)

starbuck8
Apr 14, 2008, 11:12 PM
I gotcha Starty... I owned part of a Co. for a few yrs where I was a designated driver for all the crazy bar drunks, and I would drive them home in their vehicle, with someone following me. I would get home usually around 3 or 4 am, and couldn't wind down for at least 3 hrs or so. Sure puts your internal clock out of whack.
startover22
Apr 14, 2008, 11:13 PM

Nik probably needs to make a circle of the whole city twice to burn off just what she's eaten TODAY, lol I think I smelled a little Eau du Skunk outside tonight, so she's on her own. She got sprayed so many times last yr, and I got caught in the crossfire! Phewww!

Apr 15, 2008, 07:34 AM
A Hammer? Sorry, that's the best I can do. ;)
I had a terrible morning. Both my kids woke up grumpy. My son forgot to tell me that he got a book order form and that it was due today, he told me 5 minutes before we had to leave to catch the bus. I informed him that he wouldn't be getting a book this month. I never have cash on my I live by interac. He was extremely upset. I tried to explain to him that things like this need to be discussed the night before, not 5 minutes before, he didn't want to hear it. We went to the bus stop were he sat on the sidewalk and cried and pouted until the bus came. When I asked for a hug goodbye he shook his head and got on the bus.
Sydney (my daughter) was grumpy when she got up but she got over it before she said goodbye. Yikes, me and sunny boy are going to have a talk when he gets home. He's 9 going on 16, to soon for me. Rant over.
Where's HC and Sneezy?

If they're BOTH missing.....do you have to ask?
LOL! Hehehe... ;)
Looking back over last night's conversation, two quotes stand out...
Starby: Oh, you damn men.
Sneezy: Oh, you women.
That about sums it up, doesn't it?
Sneezy, I agree with Alty, one day you'll find that "one" that will be perfect. Heck, we all will... well, all of us that haven't found our other half, that is. :) Because that's truly what a relationship is... two halves making a whole. I've said it before, and I'll say it again, an individual has to be completely one before they can be completely two.
Ok, I'm off for coffee and to check my messages...
How is everyone today?

Apr 15, 2008, 07:40 AM

*yawn* Tired, Semi Sick, Gota go Turn in My Job applictation to Papa Murphy's and then go to the football meeting at six. I've actaully got quite a story today!
Me and my 2 friends are deciding that when were 16 that Summer of 09 Were going to go on this big roadtrip up east coast to places like NYC, Boston, Hershey, and then down to Myrtle Beach SC. Well me and my friend Brett did a little math on the ole calculator to see how much we should expect if well all have jobs my this may and work until may of next year
Guy:
6 Dollar MW x 30 Hours=$180 for 2 weeks
180x.07 Federal tax=12.6
180-12.6=167.4 (We'll round up for this so 167.5)
But wait my moms want me to put 10% of my pay into my college so 167.5x.1=16.75
167.5-16.75=150.75$
150.75x 2=301.5... So in 1 months I'll make a total of $301.5.. so Multiply that by 13 for the number of months
301.5x13=$3919.5
Brett:
Basicially the same execpt that he dads wants 50% in his college so
167.5x13=2177.5
Now with treigh we don't know if his parents want anything so we'll say they don't
Treigh:
167.5x2=335
335x13=4355
So Add all of those together
4355+3919.5+2177.5=10,452 DOllARS!
Remember, this isn't all the factors that can be put into this like Insurance fates, Christmas, If we gota fix the vehicle before the trip, stuff for us like video games and such,etc... but that's still a lot of money for three 16 year olds. Someone check my math
Remember this is only in the works But I Really hopes this happen. Because if it does then with my 3000 I'm spending a night in the 4 seasons Hotel in Boston if I can afford it (PS, I've got family all up and down the east coast so most of the money will be shopping and such, because we'll only have to pay for gas and some food)

Yea, I know,That's a $hit load of pizza's to make
It works out quite nicely, I've got family in East Tennessee, Virginina, Maryland, Boston, Connecticut, While Treigh has his family in Myrtle Beach, Brett.. well Brett's just coming because were friends and It'll be cool.. were thinking about bringing 1 more person but we don't know yet. My parents say they don't care so I'm already a go and we've got many a vehicle to choose from

Apr 15, 2008, 04:59 PM
Yup, for my cousin. That was great M!
What do you consider cold M?
We went to Penticton one year, my hubby and me, before he was my hubby. We were walking downtown, it was around 35 degrees celsius, we were both ready to melt on to the sidewalk.
Along comes a guy, he stops us and starts talking to us, not hard to guess he's from Australia (by the way, love, absolutely LOVE, the accent). Anyway, he asks if the weather is going to get better. We say "Gosh we hope so, this heat wave is killing us.", he looks at us with confusion and says "Heat wave? It's bloody freezing."
Just goes to show what you get used to. Oh, we ended up having dinner with him. Unfortunately the restaurant had air conditioning. Poor guy.
friend4u178
Apr 15, 2008, 05:05 PM
LMAO... great story Alty , and you love the accent too ay. When I was in the States a few years ago I would get people asking me to talk all the time as well :-)
Well today it is 15 celsius , yeah I know , not really that cold compared to the temperatures you guys get. Australia as I'm sure your aware is a very BIG country so the weather really does vary depending on where you live though.
Alty
Apr 15, 2008, 05:12 PM
We Canadians are funny. You see, the winter is so cold that 15 degrees seems like summer. The summer is nice and hot, so when it drops to 15 it feels cold. So depending on the season 15 degrees celsius can be either hot or cold. I'm babbling, sorry.
How cold does it get in the winter, in your area?

Sneezy, come spend a winter with me one time. Minus 20 is pretty common, we've had weeks of minus 40, minus 30 not a big deal. If it's cold enough to freeze your eye drops on contact, then you know it's really cold.
Exact opposite in the summer, last year we had a heat spell for 1 month. 35 degrees or warmer. I was ready to melt. Thank god for air conditioning, but not everyone has it, and in their houses I suffered. Yikes, just remembering it is making me sweat.

Now, syphilis is a disease of the organs, basically, correct me if I'm wrong, so how will you find it in bones? I know it can affect the brain... but...
Maybe we should start our own thread about our medical mis (oops) adventures. LOL
Start,
Osteology = the study of the bones
ISneezeFunny
Apr 15, 2008, 07:06 PM
After some time, once syphilis is at its most advanced stages, it starts to eat the cortical bone... and a person with syphilis, after they die, will have lesions on their skulls.
It's a pretty big deal, as researchers are trying to decide if the Europeans brought syph into the New World or if the Old World gave the Europeans the syph... which led to a massive epidemic in the 1600s. The lesions found, however, could be from osteoporosis and other diseases... so I'm trying to figure out if the syph will have a SPECIFIC type of lesion.. . not a big fan.
J_9
Apr 15, 2008, 07:11 PM
Well, this is sexual disorders, I am a big fan. LOL
I did not realize that the lesions were left on the skull, but only on the brain itself, causing mental illness if left untreated.
Now, the question is, does osteoporosis leave lesions? I was of the belief that it was a breakdown of the bone and lesions were not present.
SPECIFIC type of lesion? Hmmm, I was tired, (very interesting day in surgery), but now you have my brain ticking.

Oh boy, I need a break here you guys! I'm scared to answer my phone anymore! Just seems to be bad news all the time lately.
I just got a call from my Aunt, and my cousin and his wife were hospitalized today. The Dr.'s can't figure out what is going on, but there is suspicion that it may be the Super Bug. My cousins wife is on life support right now... has a growth of some kind on her lung, among other things. My cousin has developed serious pheumonia, and he is getting worse by the minute. They have 2 young kids. The Dr,'s are working like crazy to find out the cause, because they both had flu symptoms, and within 24 hrs they have both gone down hill very quickly.
Very scary stuff! :(
starbuck8
Apr 15, 2008, 08:11 PM
Sneezy... is there anything you know about this new Super Bug virus?
The only thing I know is that it's goes rapidly. I've only read a few things, and watched an Oprah show about it.
ISneezeFunny
Apr 15, 2008, 08:15 PM
By superbug I'm assuming you're referring to mrsa?
starbuck8
Apr 15, 2008, 08:18 PM
Yes, I assume that is what they are talking about.
The Dr.'s are saying that the antibiotics aren't working.
ISneezeFunny
Apr 15, 2008, 08:19 PM
Well, MRSA is pretty much a super-staph infection. It "usually" begins on the surface of the skin via injury, cut, sore, etc. and then will spread. Most often, it remains on the skin and is uncommon for it to travel through the bloodstream to other parts of the body... of course, this is "uncommon" but does happen.
You said the symptoms were flu-like and got worse within 24 hours?
starbuck8
Apr 15, 2008, 08:24 PM
That's the info I got. They both got sick at the same time, and both started going down hill very quickly.
starbuck8
Apr 15, 2008, 08:31 PM
I forgot to mention... his wife also had a cyst under her armpit, that just developed shortly before they were both admitted
ISneezeFunny
Apr 15, 2008, 08:33 PM
Doesn't seem like MRSA at all, I wonder why the doctors are suspecting mrsa. Granted, they actually WENT to med school... so they probably know far more than I do... but that's just my vote. Doesn't seem like TB either, as TB takes a while to develop.
ISneezeFunny
Apr 15, 2008, 08:35 PM
Hm. Cyst underarm means her lymph nodes are swollen, which is indication of an infection...
starbuck8
Apr 15, 2008, 08:36 PM
Hmmm, well I don't know why they are thinking that either. I may not have all of the info myself because my Aunt only told me just a few details. I just wonder why 2 people in the same household would get so sick in such a short period? And to make them so sick that one is on life support at this stage.
ISneezeFunny
Apr 15, 2008, 08:38 PM
It's definitely environmental... I'm assuming from their home or someone brought it home and the other became sick. Luckily, the kids didn't get sick, which is unbelievable as children are usually the first to get sick due to their weaker immune system.
ISneezeFunny
Apr 15, 2008, 08:38 PM
I certainly do hope they get better soon... and my curious nature is going to want to know what they had. Keep us posted.

I will, I'm just on the phone now again with her,
starbuck8
Apr 15, 2008, 09:17 PM
Well didn't I just say that I shouldn't answer my phone? My Aunt had to hang up because of a call from the hosp. so I don't know what is going on. I then got a phone call from my best friend of 20 plus yrs. She has had really bad probs with kidney stones for yrs, they sent her for a CT scan, and then an ultrasound. Found a shadow between her pancreas and her stomach, and she's waiting for results. But she said for 5 days after her ultrasound she feels like she has got a severe sunburn on her lower back, but no rash or redness.
I guess I should post on the medical forum eh?
Sorry!. this is Alty's FUN pub ;) The drinks are on me tonight k? :D
ISneezeFunny
Apr 15, 2008, 09:26 PM
Well, the pancreas is actually one of the hardest areas to visualize via ultrasound as it's filled with loops and gases that visually obstruct the view. So the shadow may in fact be nothing. As far as the burning, it could be a number of things, but with her kidney stone problem, as well as the area of the burning sensation, I have a feeling that she may have a kidney infection.
What's her status as far as seeing the doc?

On our first holiday together, we went to Mauritius where we had booked a room in a lovely hotel. On our first night there, we had cocktails and then went for a romantic stroll along the beach. When we came back, we lay down on one of the chaise lounges next to the pool. It seemed deserted and we started getting really steamy. I kept looking around to check that there was absolutely no-one there - and there wasn't. So we slipped out of our clothes and slid into the pool to see if it was possible to have sex underwater. We were doing quite well with our experiment when suddenly, out of nowhere, a member of the hotel staff appeared and told us, very politely, that it was better to keep intimacy to our bedroom. The pool, he added, had an underwater window that made up one of the walls of the hotel's disco, and we had been the floor show for all the guests who were dancing -until they had seen us. I was so humiliated that I made my boyfriend check us out of the hotel first thing the next morning, and I spent the rest of the holiday dreading the flight back in case anyone recognised us.'

Here's a quote I heard today , hopefully it'll bring a smile to starby (might post it in Hchicky's quotes post as well)
When I was born God gave me two choices...
(1)... I could either have a good memory...
OR
(2)... Be good in bed!
Bugger!.
Now I forgot what I was going to tell you!!

She just saw her Doc Friday, and the results weren't in yet. He told her not to worry, but she's a mess just wondering! Yeah, she said that they couldn't tell what the shadow was by her pancreas. Apparently they checked for a kidney infection also, but that isn't the case. So I don't know what's going on!
I've got a pimple on my forehead... should I be worried? LMAO!
Sorry, I shouldn't make light of their probs, but I need to laugh! Someone tell me a good joke, lol

A lady picked up several items at a discount store. When she finally got up to the checker, she learned that one of the items had no price tag. Imagine her embarrassment when the checker got on the public address system and boomed out for all the store to hear: PRICE CHECK ON LANE THIRTEEN. TAMPAX, SUPERSIZE. That was bad enough, but somebody at the rear of the store apparently misunderstood the word 'Tampax' for 'Thumbtacks'. In a very businesslike tone, a voice boomed back over the public address system; DO YOU WANT THE KIND YOU PUSH IN WITH YOUR THUMB OR THE KIND THAT YOU BELT IN WITH A HAMMER.

A woman decides she wants a night out with the girls. Her husband says it's all right, but he wants her home by midnite. She agrees.
The ladies go out for a night on the town, and they had such a good time and had gotten really drunk. By the time she knew it, it was 3am, so she thought she had better get home.
She walked into her house and was relieved that is was dark and her husband must be asleep.
Just then the cuckoo clock chimed 3 times. She thought, oh nooo, if her husband heard that, he would find out that she came home 3 hrs late. So she had a bright idea and started to cuckoo 9 more times, just in case, so her husband would think it was midnite.
When they got up in the morn, the husband asked her how her night was and what time she got home. She said, well I got home at midnite, just as I said I would.
Her husband smiled and said, that great honey I'm glad you had a good time. Oh, by the way, I think we need a new cuckcoo clock! She looked at him and asked... why?
Well, he said, It cuckoo'd 3 times... and then it said "Oh $hit,. then it cuckoo'd four more times, and burped,. then it cuckoo'd 5 more times and farted and fell over the coffee table! :D

OK
This is what starby was trying to post
YouTube - Dancing Skeleton Man (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1WpD7i4RxnY)
Basically what you were trying to post starby is a wav. File or Movie file , I'm pretty sure you can't post those on here as they are normally quite big , this one is 3.7 mb.
So what I did was just go to YouTube , type in skeleton man in the search engine and then attach the web link.
Clear as mud really :-) That's your lesson for today!
