I had a great weekend... and I'm paying for it today... lol... I am completely, positively sunburned... my poor face! I had NO idea I move my forehead so much when I talk! OUCH!

Ouch, that's got to hurt! Been there done that many times, and you sure pay for it for a few days. I wish it would hurry and get warmer here, although it was beautiful outside yesterday. I should be careful what I wish for though. When summer comes, we complain as much about the heat as we do the snow! ;)

The city I live in is quite often called the city with the highest temps in Canada, so it gets pretty brutal sometimes, and it's a dry heat.

I love the sun... this was the first weekend that the temps were actually pleasant. The sunburn is from the sun AND wind, though... it was brutal Saturday.

Its back to 38 degrees this morning... crazy!

Wow, it's 55F right now and suppose to get up to 75 this afternoon... wow, did I read that right! Holy cow, I did... that's pretty darn warm for April here. The weather has gone crazy everywhere!

Just a few months ago we had temp of -50 (and I think that is the same in Celsius and Fahrenheit when it gets that cold) with the wind chill. God, you never know what the heck to wear anymore!

You missed my doggie dancing party on Sat night too! What a mess all those animals left! Whewww! And I was finding bunnies passed out everywhere Sunday morn! LOL

My parents are leaving for home from Fla on Thurs, and my mom has been worried about the tornado's. They will be passing through Chatanooga and Nashville. Not quite sure which way they are going to take after that. They change their route sometimes, depending on the weather. My mom says there's a lot of flooding in some of the places they have to pass through also.

We had tornado watches quite a bit last week, but so far, none have been reported for this week. My grandparents are going to be leaving FL soon - I know the feeling... :)

It's a 5 day drive for them, and this yr they are driving 2 separate vehicles, and my Dad is going to be towing an 18 ft boat. They are just getting too old for that. LOL. Yeah Nik is not quite sure what she is sometimes either. She gets along with anything that moves! You should see her with my neighbors new kitten. It is so funny! The kitty is only about 10" long and Niki is just a big lug weighing in at about 40 lbs. They chase each other around, and then Nik (gently) pins her to the ground and they swat at each other... soooo cute to watch.

And you should see Nik when I get bored and dress her up... she loves it! She gets this big grin on her face that just looks so funny! :D

Pretty soon the skunks are going to start coming out at night again too. GREAT! Nik got sprayed about 6 or 7 times last summer. It was 3 times in 3 days one time, and she is scared to death of water... which is weird because she's half Lab and Labs usually LOVE water. Not her... oh nooo! It's a fight to give her a bath. I bought her a pool last yr so she could cool off when it got too hot, but she won't go near it. And don't even mention the word hose!

I sure hope the city puts out more skunk traps this yr because there are tons of them in my area, and of course Niki thinks she can play with them. I spent a bunch of money last yr going to the vet and then having to get creams, drops and stuff because Nik would get it right straight in the face :( Her poor little eyes, she could hardly open them. But it didn't mean it stopped her the next time either.

I logged in 2 hours ago and then go a call from my cousin. I've been on the phone since. Her husband of 13 years told her yesterday that he wants a divorce. They have 3 kids 12,8,5 years old. My cousin has been sick for the last 10 years or so. Back problems, and other problems. She had an emergency hysterectomy last year, she's only 32 years old. She has numerous health issues, apparently hubby says he's tired of living with a cripple. Whatever happened to "For better or for worse, through sickness and in health?"
I feel so bad for her.

Weekend with bro was... interesting. We didn't do much... as he sleeps 12 - 14 hours a day. So he'd go to bed around midnight, and he'd wake up around noon - 1pm... eat lunch, watch TV, and we'd go out for dinner, then we'd catch a movie, and he'd be back in bed.

... really exciting.

OOH! We did go sparring though. We both take martial arts (he takes kung fu, I take kung fu and also do mixed martial arts) so we decided to gear up and beat the crap out of each other. I vaguely remember me being able to pick him up and throw him on the ground, but... over the course of the past 6 weeks, he's grown about 2 inches and gained 10 lbs...

Sneezy... you do martial arts? I've done Kenpo for a few years... haven't done it in a while, but still love it.

Sparring is awesome... Although... the first time I ever sparred this girl hit me right in the face... she's never tried that again! Lol!

As for the eyes, no improvement on the tear duct, actually it's hurting more than ever. However the vision is great 20/20 (still blurry 20/20, but 20/20 nonetheless) and still improving.

Pup just got diagnosed with parvo, and she's trying to see if there is some way to save him. I'm looking on Google too, but I'm not sure how to put it on the thread if I find something.

The vet wants to euthanize him.

I found a site that claims to have homeopathic remedies for parvo, I posted it, hopefully that will help. It's a race against time though.

Unfortunately parvo is a terrible disease for dogs, and once they've had it they can get it again. The most common cause of death due to parvo is dehydration. I don't know if anything can be done for this pup. Obviously the vet thinks it could, otherwise he wouldn't have offered the treatment. It makes me sad. If I were a vet and someone couldn't afford treatment for their pet, and I new that treatment would work, I'd do it for free, or at least work out a payment plan. Poor puppy.

Urrgghhh! My computer crashed! Right in the middle of everything. Poor pup :( That's why shelters should never bring in animals that haven't been fully checked and vaccinated first. Sad!

It's sad, but it happens all the time. At least he isn't suffering anymore. I just hope the OP's dog doesn't contract parvo, it's very contagious. If he's vaccinated he should be fine, but vaccines don't always guarantee that you won't catch it.

Parvo is pretty crazy... it also applies to rats as rats have a disease called the kilham rat virus, otherwise known as rat parvo... about 5 years ago, our lab had an outbreak... so we had to wipe out half of our lab.. . we're good now though.

What was once a closet organized so neatly a clinical OCD patient would have been proud of, filled with shirts arranged via color, suits arranged via price, sweaters, etc...

... I now have about 3 pairs of jeans, a few t-shirts, 3 - 4 button up shirts, and about 2 sweaters. He left me one suit. ONE suit...

I understand the need for an orderly closet though... I have two... one (guest bedroom) summer closet and one winter closet. Each closet is arranged according to color - starting with white on the left into black on the right... I'm not OCD... well... maybe a little bit...

It helps knowing that no matter how sleepy I am in the morning, according to where in the closet I reach I can find matching tops and bottoms. Its great.

And very useful on mornings like today...

Okay Sneezy, I gave it a try. Don't tell anyone, secret, but sometimes it's sad to be lumped in the same group as these females. I'm happy that I am female, but there are so many out there that make the rest of us look bad. Frustrating.

Having said that, remember that not all women are like her, in fact, I think there are more great girls out there than bad, unfortunately bad things stick in our mind much more than good.

You'll find someone great one day, someone wonderful, someone who will treat you the way that you deserve, this girl is not the one, nor is she friend material. Heck, with friends like her who needs enemies?

Unfortunately, she was a WONDERFUL person for about... 3 years. Really. She was a SAINT at my school. Anytime anyone found out I was with her, the first question was, "How'd you get her?" Honestly. Just not sure how things did a 180... in such extreme directions... in such a short amount of time.

She was possibly the sweetest most caring girlfriend I've ever had... not to mention, I often refer to her as the best girlfriend I ever had.. . interestingly enough, this has got to be the WEIRDEST breakup ever.

I think I am going to go choke my brother... seriously, I'm so mad at him I just want to shake him!

For those of you who might not know, my parents are snowbirds... live 6 months here and 6 months in FL. They drive back and fourth 3500 mls every yr. 5 straight days of driving at least 12 hrs. Well this yr both my parents have had a lot of health probs, my dad really shouldn't be driving anymore. I've driven with him just in town, and believe me it isn't pretty!
So, they are leaving this Thurs, and my bro has decided to buy some 18' boat and he wants my parent to go pick it up and tow it back for him. (my bro can't even afford his child support, but he can get a toy) My parent also bought themselves a new vehicle while down there this time, and they were going to tow one behind the other, and my mom was going to do most of the driving. Well now, since my Dad still thinks he's 20, and my bro must think he is too, my parents are going to drive 2 separate vehicles!

My mom has been calling me crying, and just stressed right out thinking about the trip, and my Dad pulling a boat behind him without her to watch other traffic.

So I called my bro and told him to get his own damn boat up here, and that he is stressing Mom and Dad right out! So he calls my Dad... Dad says it's no biggie, and my bro calls me and tells me... I don't know what your prob is... Dad doesn't have a prob with it... UUUURRRRGGGGHHHHH!

My mom always call me and tells me what she thinks, and vents on me... but for some ridiculous reason, even though my brother has been screwing up so bad in the last few yrs. (cheated on his wife, got another girl pregnant, had to sell his house before the back foreclosed... etc etc.) my mom treats him like an angel. He's 40 yrs old for crying out loud. But my parents walk on egg shells around him and just can't tell him no... FOR ANYTHING!

That would get on my nerves real quick! Grrrrrr:)

Thanks Starty!! It's just so darn frustrating. I did tell my brother ahead of time (well in a message because he never answers his phone) to try and find another way to get the boat home, and to try and make up some sort of excuse why Dad didn't have to go get it. I told him that he knows how stubborn Dad is, and he thinks he can do anything, so he would have to come up with a story.

Did he do that?. of course not. Before talking to me, he called Dad and said that I had called him and that I was worried. Well of course my Dad just chuckled and told my bro... well you know your sister, she worries about everything. Things will be fine!

Then I got an email from my mom saying... thanks, but it didn't work, your Dad will be towing the boat back after all.

He doesn't sound too clever starby , I'd strangle him as well. If your Dad seems to say to him its OK why don't you tell him to ask your Mum what she thinks.
