If my son father was willing to give up rights to my son , Would I need a lawyer to do so . Or could he just sign something and it be over with?

You need to go to the Judge and convince the Judge that it is in the best interest of your kid and your sons father has to agree and then the Judge has to go for it.

WHY does he want to do that? All he has to do is not exercise his rights, and there's no problem.
I suspect he wants to do it to get out of child support. Boy, will he be surprised when he still has to pay!
Either way, you have to go to court for this. Get a lawyer.

Yes, first no he can't just sign something, only the judge can decide if he can give his rights up, If the judge does, he will still have to pay his child support, so why does he just go away and not call you or see you, and he does not have to use a single right
