All-nighters and I are like close cousins. We get together every week or so. I eat extremely healthy, work out six days a week, I don't smoke, and I drink rarely, but I feel like the lack of sleep is taking years off my life.

The highlight of this week comes from the fact that my ex (who I haven't spoken to in about 3 months) has recently started contacting me. You can find the long version here:

But the short version is... after 3 years, she finds someone else, breaks up with me a week before christmas (during finals), gets with the new guy within 2 weeks. Completely out of her character... and she handled it so badly, that in the end, she loses most of her friends... mine included. That's fine. I was a wreck during finals, and a wreck during January (when I found this forum... yay!), but after a little bit, I was fine. Haven't spoken to her in about three months, and yesterday, she calls me. Just once. I ignored as I was studying. I figured, if it's important, she'd leave a message. No message. No text. No e-mail. Today, I get another call... and again, I ignored as I was studying, and it went in the same manner. One call. No message. No text. No e-mail.

I'm not so sure that I want to talk to her, but my curiosity's getting to me... as I'm wondering what she wants to talk about. I'm assuming that she just wants to shed bad blood between us before we graduate... and in that case, she can wear two left shoes and trip on the carpet (... couldn't think of a better insult). But... I don't know. I'm an extremely curious person by nature... so... yeah.

Ive followed your story closely sneeze as our situation with our ex's are similar in most ways. You know what to do obviously, keep NC unless she sends a clear sign that she wants to speak with you about something important. And you're probably right about the whole settling things between you two. She most likely just wants another friend. Or she she just gives a damn about you. According to my ex, she still cares for me a lot, but... never mind... she's told me so many different things about "why" we broke up, I don't even know why... nor does it matter anymore.

Hang in there sneeze, only a few more weeks right? Just keep focusing on work/school... just pretend she never called. What she wants is irrelevant anyway. She doesn't matter too much to you anymore.

So... they started my paperwork to hire me on permanent here--and found out today from the temp place that I need SEVEN HUNDRED hours before they can hire me with no fee.

HC, sadly, not my final final... but my final midterm :D.

You had a corticosteroid shot?. did you hurt your wrist due to an accident? Tendinitis?

Usually, cortisone shots are supposed to be able to be tolerated, but it really depends on who gives it to you... skilled doctors can give it with little to no problems.

If the shot is hurting your wrist and it's hurting more than usual or your wrist isn't feeling better, then you may have something called a cortisone flare, and that's when the cortisone crystallizes in your synovial joint, causing more pain. If you want, you can try to ice your wrist a bit (10 - 15 min at a time) and see if it makes the owie go away.

If not, I can make it go away later ;)

I was in a car accident in September... long story short, an idiot doctor told me to "keep it braced until it stops hurting and take three motrin three times a day." Needless to say, I did this, but kept seeing him every 4-6 weeks with the same complaint. (I was gripping the steering wheel tightly, rear ended, all that "whiplash" went into my wrist) It could have been a simple fix with PT and time. But no... I ended up having to go to another doc who ordered Occupational Therapy 2X a week for a month... this was my first check up with her. She moved it all around and said, yes, you need a cortisone shot. Which is where I am. OT has been helping tremendously, but its still quite painful.

And yes, it is getting worse. It hurts MUCH more than it did before the shot. I'm assuming it will get worse before it gets better, but ouch. My owie is an uber-owie.

Yeah... see... I ASKED before... and they told me a number of hours that worked out to be the end of April, beginning of May.

And when I just called my rep to find out what the heck was going on, I got the lie that she wasn't available--their phone person was a terrible liar, so I know she was there and just didn't want to talk to me.

The thing is... ANOTHER position has opened up here, and I think I'm qualified--only, if they have to pay my fee, I won't even get in the door.

It's making $20k more a year than I make now.

I mean seriously--can *I* just pay the freakin' fee?

Aw, that stinks, Synn. Hopefully the fee won't hinder you from getting hired into that position... dishonesty in the work place... rah...

Well, the good thing is... if you don't feel any pain, then the problem could be a lot bigger... for your doc to resort to cortisone shots... hmm... makes me wonder... it's usually NOT the first route they go. And the fact that it hurts... makes me think that either your doc stinks at giving corticosteroid injections or it flared.

Synn: you should call back... different number and all, and ask for that person saying that you're a credit card company. See what happens.

The first doc I saw was incompetent. He didn't listen to what was wrong, nor did he care about the pain. In fact, the last time I saw him he said (and I quote), "You're fine. You're not hurting. Have a nice year!" Idiot.

I went to the best hand surgeon in the Nashville area on a referral after Idiot Doc (ID) kicked me out. I've been quite pleased with her so far. I never imagined that a shot could hurt so much... its starting to bruise as well... rah...

Anyway... complaining isn't going to help anything! I'll drink my coffee, listen to my music, and hope it goes away!

Oooh. Beer sounds like a good idea. On my recent outing (... a week ago?) I tried this beer, it's called Echt Kriekenbier... I swear, it tastes like cherry flavored ginger ale. I even let the hot persian girl try it, because she claimed she hates the way beer tastes, and that's the only thing she drank that entire night.

I'm writing my thesis... it's due in 3 weeks, but I figure... I should get a start on it.

While in line at the bank one afternoon, my toddler decided to release some pent-up energy and started to run amok. I was finally able to grab hold of her after receiving looks of disgust and annoyance from other patrons. I told her that if she didn't start behaving herself 'right now', she would be punished. To my horror, she looked me in the eye and said in a voice just as threatening, 'If you don't let me go right now, I will tell Grandma that I saw you kissing Daddy's pee-pee last night!'. The silence was deafening after this enlightening exchange. Even the tellers stopped what they were doing! I mustered the last of my dignity and walked out of the bank with my daughter in tow. The last thing that I heard as the door closed behind me were the screams of laughter.

Hey all, got to go, hubby just got home and I haven't seen him all day. Time for hugs and kisses, I wonder how he feels about the whip. Bad Alty, I'm kidding. Really bad Alty.

I've had a few run-ins lately. They don't agree with something I said, and want to argue with me. Not into it.

I don't know what been happening. Just in the last few days when I try and come on here, it tells me that I'm not signed in... but I am. Then it tells me I can only ask questions, but not answer. Then it comes up with the sign up screen, and it won't let me log in... hmmm

That's odd too! Wonder what's up! Sometimes, I forget to sign out (messenger too, lol), but it doesn't have any affect the next time I sign in...

Run ins are never fun... I hardly come back at a person if they don't agree with something I say... call it "choosing my battles" if you will... When I find a hill I want to die on, by golly, bring on the gorgeous Spartan men! :D

Hi all. Just got back from the doctor's office. He told me to wait till tomorrow and discuss my tear duct with the doctor who did my surgery. My doc isn't familiar with laser eye surgery, he doesn't want to do anything that could harm my eye. That means that I get to suffer through this until 3:30pm tomorrow, ARGHHHHHH!

Starby, if you're here, I just had a run in with Svetlana (or whatever her username is) and it wasn't good. She put me in a pickle, she thought that a previous post was confirming her end of things, I just wrote what I've witnessed in Canada with regards to underage children selling tobacco. She thanked me and then went on to tell everyone that maybe her and I were evil twins sent here to upset everyone, she likes what I said. Well, darnit, that wasn't my intention at all! Afterwards, my brother's coming over today... well, actually, he's on spring break and he's out with his friends at a theme park (six flags), so I have to go pick him up at night, and he just decided he'd spend the rest of his spring break here with me instead of going home.

So I guess I'll be hanging out with him tonight and tomorrow. Off to my run!
