Someone probably reported it and it was deleted, as well as the answer to the offensive post.
I've seen that happen a few times on certain threads... when someone reports an inappropriate post, it and all of its corresponding answers are deleted.

Ahhh, I see. Well I'm glad it's gone anyway.
So what are you 2 doing for the wkd?
HistorianChick
Apr 4, 2008, 11:35 AM
Not sure... I think its going to rain the entire weekend, so I'll probably end up being a hermit all weekend. Have a couple books I should finish... as well as a few movies that I need to watch. ("need to watch" - lol)
Other than that, not much!

What about you Alty? Just staying in and resting up some more?
I don't think there is going to be much going on around here either. I'll probably stay in tonight and then maybe go out with the girls for awhile tomorrow night. Exciting eh? lol

By the end of the week, I'm so stressed out that a good night of me-time is just what the doctor ordered... Saturday is my play day! :) Friday nights are fun, but I'm a fan of bubble baths on Friday nights. That works great for me!
Alty
Apr 4, 2008, 11:42 AM
I'm resting up some more and going shopping for sunglasses. The kids are done spring break, they go back to school on Monday. I feel bad that I didn't get to do anything with them while they were off.
I'm drinking water now, I need to re-hydrate.
HistorianChick
Apr 4, 2008, 11:44 AM
:) Re-hydrating is good, Alty... you take it easy!

Apr 4, 2008, 11:46 AM
Ahhh yes, the bubbles! I so miss the bubble baths. When I bought my house, I had it totally gutted, and we decided at the time that it was just too small in the bathroom for a bath tub. So I just have a shower stall. I didn't mind at the time because I was still with my ex, and we had a jacuzzi. Now I could kick myself for not designing it to make room for a tub :( I miss the long soaks!

My bathroom sold me my apartment... literally. I walked in, saw the two sinks, the stand up shower, and the garden tub and I fell in love. The bathroom is seriously the size of a bedroom. Its amazing... :) has one of those Hollywood mirrors with the lights, too. *sigh* But the garden tub is a must have. :)
Alty
Apr 4, 2008, 11:52 AM
Oooh, I'm jealous. I have a jacuzzi tub downstairs, but I seldom use it. I'm more of a shower kind of girl, with two kids I rarely have the time for a good soak. Maybe I will indulge this weekend. Time to get some bubble bath!

Apr 4, 2008, 11:53 AM
Hey, how come no one has dropped their pets off at my doggie day care? Are the prices too high? lol I promise I'll take good care of them! ;) I thought it would be a good place for them to go when we are at the café or in the pub! Haha.
Speaking of pets, I should probably take Nikia for her walk already. She sitting here very patient. :)

You have a virtual doggie daycare?? Seriously? I'm so there! Only with my cat... :D
starbuck8
Apr 4, 2008, 11:55 AM
Oh I so jealous of both of you... 'pout pout' I want BUBBLES! I never had to live without either a huge bathtub or jacuzzi before.

I need more water.
Starbuck, you asked for it, you got it. I could write a book about my fur babies, and you got chapter one on your site. Sorry, I really tried to restrain myself. Just thank goodness you didn't ask about my kids, you would have gotten 500 plus pages.
HistorianChick
Apr 4, 2008, 12:24 PM
You know Alty, I think I'm actually going to order an Alty today after work... that really sounds good to me right now! :)
Loved the post about your furry babies - they're lucky bunnies!
Alty
Apr 4, 2008, 12:33 PM
I'm the lucky one. Every one of my fur babies has brought so much joy to my life. I just wish I could rescue more, they deserve to have people who love them and treat them right. I could do without the excessive poo and stinky bunny butts though. ;)
I'm going to ask hubby to bring me an ice-cap from timmies today. I have a craving.
HistorianChick
Apr 4, 2008, 12:34 PM
Mmm... Tim Hortons... yumm
Hey, do you have Harvey's where you are? My Dad always raved about Havey's burgers... when we were living in Upstate NY, we'd go up to Niagra Falls and have to find a Harvey's... lol... memories...
Alty
Apr 4, 2008, 12:40 PM
We do have Harvey's, I'm not a big fan though. I love Dairy Queen, burgers, fries and ice cream all under the same roof. Whoever thought that up is a genius.
I've got to stop for a while, I think I might have over done it today. If I don't come back on until later, take care HChicky and have a great weekend. I should be closer to the old me on Monday.
I'll talk to the rest of you later or tomorrow if I don't feel up to it. Take care all.
Alty Out.

I had to give Nik instructions before I left, so I think they are all under control now, lol
I don't know what I would do without my Niki. She comes everywhere with me. We dance... hope no ones watching, lol... we play ball, and do pretty much everything together. I wish I could adopt more too! I still might. I can't even walk into a shelter without wanting to bring a half doz home with me.

All right - sheesh... everyone's leaving me...
Where's my Sneezy? Oh, that's right, work. :)
It was a good day today - we've developed three coffee drinks!
The Alty - double latte, Ghiradelli Chocolate sauce, gooey Caramel, and Almond syrup
The Starry - triple cappuccino with Ameretto syrup
The Sneezy - quad Americano, splash of cream, and maybe a pump of vanilla to cut the bitterness, but not too much, cause I know he's sweet enough! ;)

I'm back for a bit.
I saw the preview for Oprah's show, I don't know if I'm going to watch it or not. Those shows really disturb me, they leave an impression that I can't erase, I don't know if I want that in my head. I have seen similar shows about puppy mills. When my kid's are grown my husband and I plan on adopting a puppy mill rescued dog, they are usually quite temperamental and scared of humans, not a great mix with kids. I refuse to buy a dog from a pet store because the majority of them get their dogs from puppy mills. It is a cruel, cruel way to make money. A rescued dog is my only option, they deserve to find their forever homes with people who are going to love and care for them forever.
It's people like us that must take a stand and put a stop to this sort of abuse. I try and do my part, if others followed suit then we could win this battle, I truly believe that. I'm glad Oprah is doing this show, even though it is disturbing.
Okay, enough preaching. Is it to early for a beer?
ISneezeFunny
Apr 4, 2008, 02:41 PM
OK. Caught up on 8 pages.
HI all.
Still at work... I'm mounting my brain sections onto my slides. Yay.
HC: You have the keys now, so you're more than welcomed to come anytime. I might surprise you with something when I get home.
Alty: Hope you're feeling better?
Starbuck: yeah. That's terrible. Those bastards.
newcomer: welcome.
I personally love the new coffee drinks... especially the sneezy. HUGE fan =D
As far as my weekend goes... another set of midterms next week... one on Monday, two on Wednesday. It's sad. So most of tonight will be spent at a starbucks, and when they kick me out at 11pm, off to dunkin donuts. Ah, it's my life.
Hope everyone has a great weekend, I'll be back later.

However, I must say, with your eye condition, be sure to be hydrated enough
Alty
Apr 4, 2008, 02:44 PM
Sneezy sweetie, I'm so glad you're here. I missed my dose of Sneezy today.
Hey Sneezy, ever thought about going into Optometry? Those guys really rake in the bucks, especially if you do lasik. Think about it, you could buy Godiva chocolates for HChicky every day.
starbuck8
Apr 4, 2008, 02:45 PM
Beers all around! :)
I had to turn the TV off. Way too hard to watch!
Meet you at the pub? The pool boys might have showed up for their shift! Shall we go see?
starbuck8
Apr 4, 2008, 02:47 PM
Sneezy... I won't kick you out at 11, lol You can stick around! I'm up all night anyway right? lol
Alty
Apr 4, 2008, 02:51 PM
Ooh, pool boys. What about Sneezy, somehow I don't think he wants to ogle the pool boys.
I think I might try watching the Oprah show, I don't know if I'll make it through more than 5 minutes though.
Sneezy, I'm trying to stay hydrated, that has been a major problem this week. I was on tylenol 3 with codeine and anti inflammatories (how do you spell that?), those two med's combined left me dehydrated and cursing the porcelain God. I even drank prune juice this week, that's how desperate I was. TMI?
I think I'll drink another glass of water and then have a beer. I'm finally off the med's so an alcoholic beverage is definitely in order, especially if I'm going to watch Oprah.
starbuck8

Apr 4, 2008, 02:55 PM
If you want, pedialite helps to stay hydrated quite a bit... along with gatorade + powerade.
Actually, I've never thought of doing optometry... no offense to any optometrists, but I just feel like it'd be a cop out from med school. Again, no offense to any optometrists. Lasik, I believe is done by ophthalmologists, which I guess wouldn't be a bad thing, however, for me, orthopaedic is really the way to go.
Saw, hammer, screwdrivers, nails, drills... I mean, it's practically a tool shop... but instead of a 2 x 4, you have someone's femur. It just doesn't get any better.

Talk to you later Sneezy. Oh, I did drink two entire bottle of pedialite, it helped some, but I was really dehydrated.

Hi Sneezy, bye Sneezy. Short and sweet.
I was hoping you'd listen to me vent, I've spent the afternoon trying to talk a not quite 16 year old girl into not getting pregnant, ah frustration thy name is teen.
starbuck8
Apr 5, 2008, 04:53 PM
OMG... yer going to hurt your eyes girl! Frustrating eh?
Alty
Apr 5, 2008, 04:56 PM
Frustrating to say the least. She thinks she's ready for a child because she babysits her sister. AHHHHH, I so want to strangle something right now, it's like talking to a brick wall. I remember being 16, I know how pig headed I was, and I also know that I didn't think adults knew anything, but how do I get it through her thick teenage skull that she's wrong and I'm right? I just hope she at least thinks about it, otherwise we'll have another teen mom living alone on welfare with her poor child. Really, really frustrating, my head hurts.
Forget the coffee it's time for a beer.
starbuck8
Apr 5, 2008, 05:04 PM
No kidding! Another kid that thinks she has a world of knowledge, and thinks because she can 'babysit' that she is ready to have one. And on who's dime? I'm sure her b/f will stick around too, and they will have the white picket fence and a dog, and they will live happily ever after.
starbuck8
Apr 5, 2008, 05:06 PM

Alty
Apr 5, 2008, 05:07 PM
She's already got the dog, but not the white picket fence. She also had a miscarriage a few months ago and she'll be 16 in a few days. What in the world is this world coming to? It's so frustrating, but like I said I might as well be talking to a brick wall for all the good my advice is doing. Seriously, when my kids become teens I'm locking them in their rooms.
starbuck8
Apr 5, 2008, 05:22 PM
Haha, yes... lock them up! I think a lot of it has to do with all of the info that is available to them now really. Just the TV shows alone! Never mind the crap you can find on the internet, and the stuff that goes on in schools.

It's a scary world, and I know all to well the things that teens will do, don't we all? After all, been there, done that. In the end all I can do is talk, talk, and talk and hope that maybe some of it will sink into that thick little teenage skull, but ultimately it's up to her. She doesn't seem to think she'll regret it, I hope she doesn't find out that she's wrong. If only they'd listen to us "older" people, but did we when we were their age?
Cheers, I'm having a beer.

You should have read some of the things this young girl was saying with a question I answered the other day. She says the internet is her life, and she didn't understand what the rest of us were talking about when we told her to go out and meet some real flesh and blood people! She is convinced that this guy she is talking to is her "best friend in the world" She doesn't know where he lives, she has never met him in person, has never talked to him on the phone... although she says she has met his whole family... uhhmm, you guessed it... on the internet. Yet she has a secret to tell him, and she thinks he will literally have a heart attack when he finds out, and she will just kill herself if he does. Ohhhh, to be young again, LOL

Finally a teen. We're talking about a not quite 16 year old girl who wants to have a baby and thinks she can handle it. You're a teen, what do you think?
Hey Star - what was the secret the girl wants to tell her online friend? I'm curious.

Alty: If you want my Opion... I would have to say She Isn't ready.. Teen life is stressful enough.. and you having a kid Its going to have be your responsibility to take care of the kid and pay child support and if your working miniuim wage with 20 hours a week I don't know If it would be possible. PLUS you'd be trowing away your whole life. Instead of Having a fun time Which High School should be You have to worry about your kid. Plus You have to wonder if the father is going to do anything I bet he just wanted a fun time and didn't even think about the consiquences .I doubt the Grandparents are going to want to help since its not their responsibility.

Now I'm home... and my friend from out of town wants to go out again... apparently, he had such a good time last night that he's determined to prove to me that he indeed CAN last past 3am this time.
... I'm not so sure that he can... or even that I can... so we'll see.

Guy, hang in there. I responded to your post, but I don't think it's what you wanted to hear. Remember one thing, I'm female, and even though it's been a while I still remember what it's like to be a teen. I'm not going to go in to details, but I wasn't the sweetest chicky on the block. I broke allot of hearts, some of them belonged to sweet guys like you. That girl is using you, take it from someone who knows. Even though I regret it now, I didn't back then. She's stringing you along and that's it. There are nice girls out there, really, trust me. Big hug.

Sneezy, wow, where were you today when I was trying to knock some sense into that girl. I hope she comes back and sees your post, that was wonderful. If you had shown up earlier I could have saved myself a few grey hairs and a pounding headache. I was actually looking at real estate in the deep woods to avoid having this problem with my kids when they become teens. Idea, when my kids hit that age will you come talk to them? Kids, Uncle Sneezy has something to say, listen and listen well or mommy is buying a heavy steel door, a solid lock and a chastity belt (I still can't find one though).

It's all part of growing up, and it hurts like h*ll. Remember, we might be older but we were there once and it wasn't really all that different than it is now. Love hurts, until you find the one, then it's great. You're still young and you have plenty of time to find someone, and you will, I guarantee it. God, I sound like a mom don't I? Sorry.
I'll go dig out my accordion, darn hubby hid it again. Do you know any waltzes, because that's all I can play on the accordion. I can carry a tune at times though and I love all music, except country, I loathe country. Not to fond of classic either come to think of it. If it's Rock or hip hop I'm there so name the tune and I'll do my best.
startover22

I understand that. And you never know what happens in that family behind closed doors, whether it is all a show of happiness in the outside world... you know? I always say, if you have to do it behind closed doors, you shouldn't be doing it... (a few exceptions LOL)
I try to be who I am here in the house and out of the house. Sneezy, don't make a rash decision about babies yet sweet heart! Leave it for later. :):)

Sneezy there are no guarantees in life, especially when it comes to kids. You do the best you can, talk until you're blue in the face, love them give them a good foundation and then hope that it sticks. You're a great guy and one day you'll be a great dad because you are willing to listen and because I don't think you'd ever shirk on your responsibilities.
I love my kids, even though there are times that I could strangle the ever loving crap out of them, they are the light of my life and I'd do anything for them. Kids bring so much joy, but like everything else, with joy comes heartache, take the good with the bad and make the best of it. Wow, was that as good as it sounded in my head. Hmmm, maybe I should drink beer more often.

I'm a jeans and T-shirt kind of girl. I have two kids and a ton of pets, there is no room in my life style for a red dress and stilettos. Sigh, it would be nice though for a night on the town. When was the las time I went out? I don't remember. I guess it's been to long. The stilettos are a big no, no though, I'm 5'11" tall I don't need any extra height.
ISneezeFunny
Apr 6, 2008, 01:20 PM
5'11"?! My goodness. My mom's always telling me how I'm never going to get married due to my height... sad.

Apr 6, 2008, 01:22 PM
One can always dream though right? I wouldn't do so well in the stilletto's myself, and really can't remember the last time I wore a dress either. Jeans here too girl. ;)
Was funny though, just as I had written that, a commercial came on TV for Becel Margarine and it said it was wear a red dress month for heart disease. So we could do it for health reasons, LOL ;)

Alty
Apr 6, 2008, 01:26 PM
I'd wear a red dress for heart disease month, definitely. Does that mean I have an excuse to go shopping?
Yup, I'm 5'11", when I bought my wedding dress the clerk at the store was thrilled, all the dresses at the store were the ones the models wore at the runway shows and I was tall enough to wear them, and fit into them. It's some times a curse, but luckily my hubby is 6 feet tall so I don't have to bend down to kiss him. :)

My ideal height for myself is 5'10"...however, these asian genes...they don't help. Father's 5'6"... mom's 5'4"...I'm just shy of 5'8".
For some reason, genetically inexplicable... my 14 year old brother's 5'9" at this point... and is growing half an inch a week.. . it's madness.

Sneezy, does that mean I could kick your butt, after all I'm taller. Just kidding sweetie, maybe if you slept more you'd grow too. ;)

You're such a cutie, and I don't mean that in a cutsie way. You're a good looking guy, Guy. I love the red tie.
Sneezy, you go buy a red tie, we'll buy our dresses and all go out for a night on the town, somewhere that Guy can get in to. I'm still not wearing heals though, I don't want to feel like a giant.

Exactly, you'll soon realize that bad boys come and go, in the end the good guys will come out on top. You just hang in there, there's a girl out there just waiting to meet a wonderful guy like you, there really is. Just ask my hubby, he's a great guy and I was lucky enough to find him after so many not so great guys. You'll be just fine.

I'm OK Alty, but I think I'm going to have to call the cops again. GEEEEEZZZZ! I was hoping this would stop after court! I just went out to take a look at my van and my neighbor came over and told me my van alarm went off lastnite. He said it was going for about 15 minutes, and then stopped. (it does that)
I was UP most of the night. I had my music cranked though. I don't see anything wrong with my van so far. But last time the battery cables were cut, and of course I didn't notice that right away.

Hard to explain Sneezy! I have an ex that forced his way into my house... assaulted me... broke bones. We just got done with court a few weeks ago after waiting 15 months to get there. In those 15 months I've been getting harassing calls in the middle of the night, and my vehicles have been torn apart piece by piece. I've had to get rid of one vehicle already. My ex took a plea bargain and basically got a slap on the wrist.

Apr 6, 2008, 02:13 PM
I'm glad you're okay Star, call the cops, for all the good it will do, and file another report. Event though they haven't been helpful in the past, you just keep on doing what you have to do to protect yourself. You need me I'm there, got it?
I've got to rest my eyes for a while guys. You just keep talking I'll be back a bit later.
Star, you keep safe.

I've seen more of those damn cops than I've ever wanted to see in my lifetime. They won't do anything again, but I need to keep filing the reports. Urrrrrrrggggghhhhhh! So I guess it's another day of sitting and waiting until they are done at the donut shop!

Thank you Synnen. Yes, I just put in a call. They usually take forever to get here, and all they will do is have me fill out yet one more complaint. It baffles me that they won't take prints or trace my calls. I'm not dead yet I guess, lol ;)

Synn, I have auburn hair, but I'll still wear red. Besides, auburn isn't my natural color. I guess I'll have to change a few things on my drivers license, I no longer wear glasses and I no longer have brown hair, should I list my hair color as Clairol #58?

I'd wear a red dress for heart disease month, definitely. Does that mean I have an excuse to go shopping?
Yup, I'm 5'11", when I bought my wedding dress the clerk at the store was thrilled, all the dresses at the store were the ones the models wore at the runway shows and I was tall enough to wear them, and fit into them. It's some times a curse, but luckily my hubby is 6 feet tall so I don't have to bend down to kiss him. :)
5 foot 10 inches tall here and jeans are hard to come by! Dang it, I need to go shopping!

Yes I did, Actually I read them quite Thoroughly, And to me Not showing her felt like Hiding it from her and I'm too much of a nice person to do that. Plus... If we do end up quit talking.. Don't u think she should have the right to at least know?
ISneezeFunny
Apr 6, 2008, 08:15 PM
... the right to know... what? That people think she's playing games with you?
Dude, I don't disagree that you're a nice guy... but this action had nothing to do with being nice or not... we come to this forum, on an anonymous basis, to ask questions and to ask for advice... and 9 times out of 10, if we follow the advice we are given, chances are, we won't say, "I got this advice from amhd"
You showing her the threads that pretty much said that you deserved better... makes me think that you WANTED her to see that she was in the wrong, in hopes that perhaps she'll change her mind?
I personally don't think she had a "right" to know. If you and a buddy were talking about her, does she have a right to know about that conversation as well? I don't think so.

Yesss... Its Monday! Woo-hoo! Well, not "woo-hoo" to the fact of it being Monday, persay, but today is the day that I start my tutoring again! Woo-hoo! I have two English students from Japan... I've missed it dreadfully these past few months. Their company (Nissan) budgeted a certain amount of funds for employee English lessons... they had too many students and not enough allocated funds... we've been off for two months...
This mornings blend... Pralines and Crème. :)
Oh, Synn... about your night out... you sexiest pair of jeans, sassy screen tee, and a sexy black suit jacket... you have black heeled boots? There you go... add a snazzy belt and you're set for a night of walking around town! :)
