I just put new "guts in two toilets--fill and flush valves. Now the toilet tank doesn't want to "sit" on the bowl. It wobbles a bit with the new rubber gasket as fulcrum. What did I do wrong? Thanks

You didn't do anything wrong. You just didn't tighten the tank bolts enough.
DO NOT OVERTIGHTEN The tank shouldn't be cranked down tight against the bowl it wants to have about 1/4" of play. Let me explain. The 1/4" give is so if someone leans back against the tank it will take the strain rather then having the tank crack at the bolts because it can't give. You're doing fine, just tighten them up a bit. Good luck, Tom

I'm having the same issue. I'll try tighten it a bit more.. and see what happens. Right now 1-2 drops of water leak each time I flush. And sure enough the tank on the back doesn't feel as settled as when it had the old gasket.

Thank you both for asking and responding to this.

You didn't do anything wrong at all. Just be careful not to over tighten as this may crack the tank. If the wobble persists try installing a stabilizer by tank truss. As easy of a DIY product as there is.
