My husband and I are prepared to get a will. However we will be relocating to another state within the next couple of months. Are wills state specific? What is your recommendation?

Just write a will. Have it notarized and witnessed. It is not state specific. It's YOU specific.

Some states do not require wills to be witnessed by two witnesses and be notarized. To be on the safe side, have your wills witnessed by two witnesses and notarized - then they will be able to be accepted in any state should they be needed to be probated.

First yes, while the actual will are not always that state specific, depending on how many millions of dollars you have of course.
But with all respect to notorising, some states have requirements for two or three witnesses, so you merely want to be sure your will covers those needs.
