Hello. We are trying to hook up DSL broadband, and we have everything for it, but we were told that we need to get the line from the DSL outside to the inside before we can do it. Qwest will charge us $100 if we use one of their techs, but told us that we could easily do it. Do we use the category 3 phone line wire with connections one each end and just bring it through the wall? That is what we are thinking but cannot be sure. Outside at the Qwest box, it does say DSL on one area, so I guess we will try that soon. Let us know please if anyone has any info on the subject. Thank you. Doug

Post a pic of the inside of the box using "go advanced".

In this thread there is a picture of my NID (Network Interface Device) located on the side of he house.

Don't use CAT3. Use CAT5.

Post a picture. I don't know if a filter was installed outside or not.

DSL is generally on your normal phone line, but if a filter was installed outside then you have to bring a pair in from there to the modem.

If your lucky there might be an 8 conductor CAT 5 cable entering the house already.
