Hello, I appreciate any assitance with my question.
The civic started to surge on the way to work one day. Nothing major just a minor "blip" similar to other car and trucks that I have own acted when the CPS was going out. This has been going on for about two weeks and has gradually gotten worse, and finally the car stalled completely this week. It started right back up but stalled again. I did this for about ten minutes and 10 feet and finally the car started and we made it home. It surged several times along the way.
So like any modern day person I turned to the net for answers. Through resonable deduction I had come to the conclusion that it is liekly that the EFI main relay was bad. I relaced this today, took it down the drive and it stalled before I hit the main road. To this point there has been no check engine lights coming on to indicate a fault. The fuel pump is coming on at start up. I am wondering if the fuel filter or the pump it self is going bad? Also what are the possibilities that the CPS is actually the issue, is there an easy way to check this? The car is a hatch back CX, is there access to the fuel pump as other have indicated on the sedan version, if so I could not find it. And finally, where is the fuel filter loacted, I could not find a definitive answer anywhere on the net.
Thank you,
Brian
