Hello, I want to install a utility sink in my basement next to an existing pvc drain stack. There is a cleanout about a foot above the basement floor. I was wondering if I could remove the cleanout and install a tee and put the cleanout back in above the tee. From the tee I was thinking about putting in a AAV between the sink and the tee. Also I was wondering how I reconnect the drain pipe after cutting it since both ends of the pipe are fixed (not moveable). Thanks...

Before you even cut into that PVC stack vent get a raiser clamp,(see image) on that stack and prop it up with 2 X4s or bumper jacks before you make your cut. You are correct about ending up with two bald ends so what you do is connect them with a NO-Hub Clanp,(see image). The AAV will install after the trap and before the san tee. Good luck, Tom
