Are there specific steps in resetting the computer in a Saturn engine? I was told to drive 100 miles to re-set computer. I have now driven 500 miles. I went 4 times to garage and still get engine not ready for testing.

Thanks for anybody's help.

What year Saturn is it? Have you had it scanned to diagnose what's causing the light to come on?

Try disconnecting the negative battery cable for 30 seconds. If the CEL remains on, go to AutoZone and they should be able to turn it off (reset ECM) with a scan tool.

If it's a newer Saturn running an OBD II system, disconnecting the battery won't work. The code will stay in the computer.

You should be trying to find out what's causing the light to come on in the first place rather than worrying about resetting it. If you don't fix it, the light will just keep coming on.
